Conference Tracks
This track covers topics such as production of isotopes via nuclear reactor or particle accelerators, separation of isotopes and radiochemistry and radioisotopes supply. Saskatchewan is the second largest supplier of uranium in the world and specialists will talk about the production and extraction of uranium and mining. The management of radioisotope production facilities, decontamination and decommissioning are also covered in this track.

The largest scientific category of the 11ICI, covers subjects related to nuclear medicine for imaging and therapy, radiopharmaceutical sciences, and regulatory considerations. The use of low beta emitters will be included in this section. A special session will be dedicated to the applications of isotopes in veterinary sciences.

Safety is critical component when operating in the nuclear industry and in scientific/technological research. Specialists will discuss regulatory considerations and specific radioanalytical methods and instrumentation on topics related to the detection and quantifications of isotopes. Subjects such as non-destructive testing and nuclear forensics are also discussed during the technical sessions.

Stable isotopes are critical elements in all areas: from deuterated labelled compounds used in the drug development to the isotopes used in the production of radionuclides either by accelerator, research, or nuclear power reactor. The sessions in this track will address aspects such as the availability of stable isotopes, the enrichment capabilities as well as isotopes economics. The use of stable isotopes in pharma development will be highlighted in a specific session.
This track addresses the topic of isotopes in environment, their applications in agriculture and plant biology and imaging as well as other less-known applications such as in tracers in oil digging or archaeology. Sessions on Emergency and Safety and Public Perception and Radiation and Engagement will address current “hot” topics. The Universe began as result of massive nuclear reactions and the isotopes are our windows to the Universe. The special session of Isotopes in Cosmos and Astrophysics will highlight the latest studies in the field.

This track brings specialists familiar with acquiring nuclear data needed to optimize the radioisotope production routes. On other hand the nuclear data is essential for radiation dose calculation and activation products. Scientists submitting papers on this track have the opportunity to highlight their latest studies. Any quantification requires precise measurement, and the reference standards and materials are the tools used in this regard. A specific session is dedicated to the development and Applications of Reference Materials, Standards and Metrology.
The evolution of galaxies, planets and stars is a fascinating subject of an ongoing complex dynamical phenomenon that began more than thirteen billion years ago. These sessions will highlight the historical reviews, our current understanding and future prospects of studies of these intriguing processes. Scientist will have ample opportunities to engage in discussions with their colleagues, share knowledge and engage in isotope research for diverse purposes and compare notes.
